Vintage Clarice Cliff Charlotte Royal Staffordshire Brown Transferware Floral Plate England - Hairline
Details
Beautiful vintage Royal Staffordshire dinnerware plate in the Charlotte pattern, featuring a classic brown transferware floral basket design on a warm cream ground. The ornate floral motif, softly scalloped edge, and beautifully aged crazing give this piece wonderful English cottage and antique-inspired character.
The backstamp identifies the pattern as Charlotte and reads that the design was engraved from original drawings by J. Cutts, designer circa 1830, and reproduced in Royal Staffordshire Dinnerware of Burslem, England, with the Clarice Cliff signature.
This is a lovely piece for display in a plate wall, china cabinet, hutch, or layered into a collection of English transferware and vintage ironstone.
